There was much criticsm in the trade for Malkin but he has silenced all the MBL critics as he might have just single handedly given MBL elite status. Malkin led all forwards in scoring with 84 points (38 Goals and 46 Assists).

Gabriel Landeskog

Paul Stastny
Stastny has been a consistent producer in the FCHL. He was drafted in the 5th Round, 65th Overall in the 2006 draft. He was even drafted behind RMT's selection of Stephan Ruzicka, who? At only 26 he was taken by DDR in the expansion draft.
Keith Yandle
He was taken in the 3rd Round, 48th overall as a highly touted producing dman by SFJ. He didn't realize his potential right away. He was traded twice in the 07-08 season and twice again in the 08-09 finally landing in SXK where he's flourished to a 40+ point dman.
Duncan Keith
Keith is an allstar dman who has won a Norris trophy but he was not selected early in the draft. EDH used a 3rd rounder, 39th overall to select the dman. He moved a few more times as most young dmen don't hit prime early on and finally ended up with SSA in the 2011-2012 expansion draft.

Craig Anderson
He was a big contributor for VIW 2 years ago but was a cast off from FPH after last year's poor performance. He bounced back this year after being drafted by MBL as their back up goalie. He picked up 70 points compared to last year's 43.
Joffrey Lupul

Max Pacioretty
Many eyebrows were raised when WAR picked up Pacioretty 10th overall considering he wasn't good enough to be in the league last year. He made great strides to have over 50% production from last year to prove he belongs in the early pick category finishing with 56 points, up from last year's 24.
Alex Edler
Edler quietly put together a solid season making him among the top for most productive dmen this season. He only put up 45 points last year but he added to that total with another 25 points to finish the season with 70.
